- Co-Star. This is led by Cheshire County Council. Co-Star is a web based GIS tool which displays various data sets provided by many different partners to support community safety initiatives and enable the targeting of community safety resources (See http://www.co-star.org.uk).
- The Vulnerable People Project (VPP). VPP is led by Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service and aims to reduce the risk of injury to older people posed by domestic fires by targeting potentially vulnerable people using the GP's contact list provided by Social Care. This list holds contact details for older people in Cheshire and contains names, addresses and dates of birth.
The Information Sharing Toolkit is a guide for project managers on how to embark upon an information sharing project. It is a best practice manual to support appropriate personnel on the key aspects of data sharing, stage by stage.
You will find the Toolkit useful even if you have no background knowledge in data sharing, or ICT expertise. The Toolkit is aimed at a more general audience and is written in a user friendly style. Project managers and ICT staff, or anyone involved in data sharing will find it particularly valuable.
Such staff within each of the CWHIC partner organisations are the target audience for the Toolkit and we will be highlighting the Toolkit to them in a pro-active way. CWHIC also wish to support other individuals and organisations in a similar way, hence making the toolkit available publicly to interested parties. The toolkit is available free of charge here for you to download and use.
